I think this may be the first time I have gone 5 days without posting on here. Seems a tiny bit weird not updating it. I have been pretty busy with College lately what with my upcoming assignments and also getting into the motion of writing business plans which by the way, could be the most boring sounding pieces of writing I could do. I’m getting into the swing of things though, College seems to be getting better and better; I have made awesome friends who are truly brilliant and the course itself is great. I like where I ended up but I can’t stop to think about getting kicked out of 6 Form. Could I have been where my friends are now? … I think that may be the only pessimistic thing I have to say.

I’ll tell you what I am liking, I’m liking that I am stepping out of my own comfort barrier and growing my confidence. Recently I have acquired business products that I can manufacturer and produce due to a generous wordpress blogger. I’ve been in contact with him for a little over a week now and I have been in contact with the Vice President himself of the company that owns the patent and trademarks to the ever famous Rubik’s Cube. I had an idea to create a product based upon the image of the Rubik’s Cube but I was informed that it would be a collision with the Image Rights that the Rubik’s Cube holds. I felt important talking to the VP of a corporation that holds one of the greatest trademarks in the world. I shall just have to think of another idea. I’m thinking it may come easier now my mind is set on that.

So that’s friends, college and business set, time for a girlfriend. I’m actually thinking this one may be tougher than the others haha.

Right now I am in Lincoln writing this. It wasn’t exactly my choice since I have College later on today but here I am writing this whilst my friend sleeps. Funny sleeper. Anyway, since it has been snowing on and off since I arrived here, there has been problems with the trains and the times of when they set off and when they come in. It was to my unfortunate luck that I was to board one of these trains. Even worse luck when it was the last train from Lincoln. Anyhow as things progressed I waited on the train for half an hour until I realised I wasn’t going to arrive back at home on time. I had to ask my friend if I can stay one more night to which point he accepted. Such good friends. At least I get to miss College partially.

This weekend has been rather fun as I fully expected. The first night was pretty good, we just really got things ready for the weekend as I did arrive in Lincoln at 9 after babysitting for my sisters.
I rather enjoyed Saturday as well for many reasons, the first being it was the first day I walked through snow… yay the snow is here… anyhow we walked round Lincoln and I enjoyed it. The Greggs was a big part of the enjoyment. Damn I love sausage rolls. After that things just got better. Because we only had a few hours sleep the night before Sam sort to sleep for a few more hours so he could burn through the night doing work. This was not how the night progressed. What we forgot was his dad coming to visit. We went out for a few drinks and a good night and we all ended up having a great conversation/debate about many many things. It was weird arguing about business whilst on the boarder of being drunk but lord was it fun.
Sunday was more of a relax kind of day where we went for something to eat in the ‘Chicken Cottage’. It’s like KFC but KFC was a lot further away and The Chicken Cottage was actually very similar tasting, I do admit though; KFC is my favourite out of them both.

As for right now since it is only 01:25 am I am watching the newly DVD released film ‘Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time’. It is a really good film and if I may say so myself the woman who plays the Princess is kind of hot 🙂 Yes I am a man. I personally think it’s a compliment.

And I think that is all I can think of talking about since it is very early within the day although College should be fun tomorrow. 6 hours of lessons but 9 hours of College. I still can’t figure out where the other 1 and a half hours of the free time I have goes? Confused face. 1 hours of it goes to lunch and we get 2 15 minute breaks in between the 3 hour lessons we have. It doesn’t make sense. Anyway back to the film I am watching. Ciao.

Weird Dream!

Well I shall start off with the weird. My dream, it wasn’t a weird dream in retrospect but biking up the edge of a mountain cliff to get to a girl was a little off. It is a dream then again. What’s weird is that I couldn’t place the girl to anyone in my life. The attention to detail was uncanny. It’s also very weird when the backing track to this dream was Westlifes – You Raise Me Up. Just throwing this out there that my dreams make no sense haha.

Now if that doesn’t set the mood for this blog post then maybe my account of my tutorial lesson will. Instead of the usual; fill out these, complete these sheets and here are your marks back, we had a speaker in. Usually they aren’t very good, they just tell you what they want you to know and then we all go about our lives normally. It wasn’t the case this time. I’ve never known anybody be able to make STI’s so hilarious. Not in the greatest sense of the word but you know what I mean… hopefully. I remember at one point the speaker guy actually made me cry with laughter. So much of what he said was funny and by god if his impressions weren’t just as good. I think at one moment he aspired to be like Keith Lemon. Ahh how humoured I was. At one point he did make the joke about a woman from Doncaster willingly getting bummed for a McDonalds but I don’t even think that’s relevant to anything. We sort of just spiralled off there in the lesson. I think the best part was when all the males came to the conclusion that if a woman ever cheated on us and then gave us an STI, we wouldn’t be mad with them as much because now we have an idea to lock them in a cage with rations for 7 years. This is what became of our talk on STI’s. Such a great College.

.. In other news, I managed to pick up my train tickets yesterday for my weekend trip to Lincoln. I was slightly disappointed that I only received 4 tickets where as when I went to Manchester I received 9 of them from that damn machine. If that never got me going enough my NEW and SHINY subscription to Lovefilm has just come through. I have ordered All Dogs Go To Heaven which btw if you haven’t seen it then you’re just weird, Dear John because it has got Channing Tatum in it and he is an awesome actor and the new Karate Kid with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. This should be good. They should arrive on Monday so if I am not already knocked out from the 8 hours at College, I shall watch them all then. All Dogs Go to Heaven is a great film. A little on the musical side but this was a great animation from 1989. The video at the bottom will show of its greatness.

And of the miscellaneous things to tell you, I am finally starting to get built up and toning out. This gym thing at College is really working. Getting stronger and more toned each day. One day I will be fully toned. I will like that day. Another would be the amazing cheesecake my mum just bought. It looks absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen a more amazing looking cheesecake. It better be defrosted before half past 7 tonight. If not I will be very unhappy. Finally my contract is to be due to be cut off very soon. I am thinking about just getting a new sim card with a contract on it like that instead of wasting 30 pound a month of money I haven’t got to spend. Something shall be sorted out.

I think that’s everything for now. Ciao.

Possible Challenge!

I have decided that on a ‘postly’ basis I shall be doing a ‘Choice of the post’. These could be songs, films, actors or books or anything else that comes to mind. Today’s post will feature the song, ‘Through the eyes of a child’ by Reamonn. I have chosen this because of the amazing sounding chorus it has. It invokes you to sing along and feel the song if you guys know what I mean. The words of the chorus also rings true, ‘Why did we make it so hard, this life is so complicated until we see it through the eyes of a child’. Have you ever noticed in the midst of everything going wrong around you there is a child just laughing for no reason? It’s because they don’t have any problems. I think it’s good to think about that and maybe think about how good we all had it in the past.

… Now on to my day, I’ve been pretty good today to be honest. I had the day off College which I spent waking up at half past 7 to get my sisters ready for their school day. I did manage to fall back to sleep till 10 o clock after they had gone at which point I needed to get ready to go to Doncaster Rovers Stadium to hand my bank details in so that I could receive my FIRST of many pay packages. It feels good knowing I am going to have a bit more money in my bank. After, I did the usual, go back into the town centre to buy new aerosol and toothpaste… I had such a riveting time today haha.

Ohhhh! Before I forget, I booked my train tickets today for my weekend trip to Lincoln. I and my friend are going to tear it up (Metaphorically speaking of course) that night. I think Jaggerbombs are on the table for Saturday night. I am excited about them. It’s been a while since I’ve had one and that was when I was drunk on Tequila, but that’s for another post. It will be good to see what they actually taste like.

I would like to make a special thanks to in this post for keeping me up until 2 am in the morning just passed. I admit it was partly my own brains fault for liking to solve things but I’m going to put the blame onto Play. Last night I was just minding my own business, ironically trying to come up with a business idea when I had a little look on Play’s website to take my mind off my current predicament, anyway as soon as I came to the website my interest for puzzles was sparked, they had a Rubik’s Cube on the front page. I can manage 1 side of the Rubik’s Cube pretty easy but all of it is a problem for me…. mark my words though, one day in my life I will actually complete a Rubik’s Cube. I seem to have gone off track… ohh that’s right, puzzles; anyway I started looking for puzzles for when I have the money to buy them and out of nowhere my mind jumped to something else, Critical Thinking. In a nutshell critical thinking is taking peoples arguments and what they say apart and analysing it whilst talking to them… ‘Reading between the lines’. I am interested in that sort of stuff. I’m a weird 18 year old haha. Then things escalated again, from critical thinking I jumped to a theory that me and my friend have been arguing about for a long time, ‘Anything is Possible’ with me on the opposing side. Now I’m not arrogant enough not to say that anything COULD be possible but anything IS possible is incorrect. I started this whole thing at 9 pm. I finished thinking about it at 2 in the morning. Ohh don’t I know where my priorities are in life. Thanks play.

I have also been thinking about doing some sort of challenge thing to do with my blog. You can send in ideas of possible challenges to do and I will pick one and do it. Document it and you shall get a special mention on the next blog post. I am unsure when I would be doing this as I haven’t got that much traffic yet but when things start back up but if you want to send in ideas just put the idea as a comment and I shall take it into consideration.

That’s all I have for now, ciao for now.

‘I will not be beaten, you have yet to see me shining, shining, I won’t take this lying down’. These are the lyrics to a song by Kristian Leontiou. The song is called ‘Shining’. I have always liked these lyrics as they don’t need to be explained and are fairly simple to understand. Although in the song it later suggests that these lyrics are about being better for someone than somebody else, ‘who am I to break this young girl’s heart, how the mighty rise and fall’ I personally find these lyrics can be about anything. I choose to believe the lyrics are about being better at anything than someone else. Being all you can be.

… Right, now that some of my favourite lyrics are out of the way, time to tell you about my day. In all honesty it has been quite good and has gone fairly fast. You won’t know but I am still on my antibiotics for an infection in my toe and they have been giving me a little trouble today what with tiredness and a slight bit of nausea. That aside, I received my latest set of results and it seems I have improved from my first result of 49% (Still a pass) to 70% and still showing signs of improving. I was really happy about that. My fear has hit though in maths, something I say I wouldn’t see again… equations. God forbid I hate them. I managed to get them all right but it took me a fair bit of time to do them. Oh yes, I forgot, we receive all of our questions on sheets of paper… well I managed to prove that one of the questions were wrong. They gave 4 different answers and I came to the conclusion that none were correct and surprised surprise, I was correct. Great piece of irony right?

In English I was also given some good news, myself and only 5 other people passed our assessment, unhappy faces to the others’ that didn’t pass but I am glad I got the oral discussion out of the way. I am also in a happy mood because of our next presentation. While I’m not too fond of doing presentations in front of the class, I am in heightened sensations about it being about something of my choice. I actually get to choose what I present about. Right now I am thinking of the different topics I could talk about and a few come to mind; Manchester United (Favourite Team), the age of the Mustang, and false Dichotomy. I have taken a fond liking to that term.

In other news, I have just received my new antivirus through the door and just in time. 2 days is all I had left of my previous year’s contract. The antivirus I have got is the awesome ‘Kaspersky’. Due to my great liking of 2009’s version, I have decided to purchase 2011’s new version which has a new interface which in my opinion looks fantastic. I think I also achieved the ‘Nerd status’ as I couldn’t wait to install it and run a full system scan to see if I had any viruses, not for the safety of my computer but purely because I can do it.

Apart from the obsessive scanning of my laptop, I am in the midst of booking my train tickets for my trip to Lincoln at the weekend. My friend decided it would be good to move down there for University (douche haha) so I am planning on going to visit him. It isn’t my first time in Lincoln, although it is the first time I ‘could’ be experiencing the night life if my antibiotics are finished by then. Even so I won’t have a lot of money so maybe drinks in will be best. Anyway back to the point, since he moved down I have been planning on going for a while but either never had the money or never had the time. Now I have got both so, LINCOLN HERE I COME. I HOPE YOU REMEMBER ME! (The city not the friend)

I think that is all I have to say today but my new blog post should be up in a day or so depending on what happens tomorrow or the day after. Ciao for now.

First brick..

Well, I’m Nathan. This isn’t the first time I have made a blog but this is the first time I have made a blog about my life. I was recommended to start this by a friend and whilst I haven’t got a clue what to write each time, I thought, ‘why not?’.

Right, maybe you’re wondering why this whole blog is called Brick Plus Brick. As you can see in the ‘Brick Plus Brick’ page on my blog, Will Smith said some amazing words. I plan to go by them and see what I can come up with. Maybe I’ll get my wall by the end of it, metaphorically speaking of course.

.. Any how, I’ve been rather good lately, in fact I’ve been rather good for quite a long time now, makes a huge change from how I was feeling exactly a year ago. A hell of a lot has changed. For instance, A year ago, I was in a foot holster to help me with my walking after surgery, I was using crutches and my mind was messed up beyond belief. Believe that. Right now, I am able to walk fully for long distances, I am able to run and most importantly, I can think clearly without anything messing my mind now. Life is good.

Right now I am in College studying Business, Administration & Finance after being dismissed from my 6 form. The past is the past. I am making new friends and have made some really great friends already. One of which is a lad that I could be going into business with soon. We have an idea for a small T-shirt business which we hope to get up and running soon. All we need to do is find some ideas of witty slogans or funny pictures. This is a project that we think we can do. I also want to go into business for myself although it is hugely difficult to think of an idea. Two business at once. I can do this. All I need now.. is an idea. I guess time shall tell.

Also as of yesterday I became a new employee with Doncaster Rovers. I finally got a job. Although it’s only on game days serving alcohol to fans and cleaning the kitchens, it is the experience I want. The experience is what I need to get a better job which could lead me onto greatness. See I am jumping ahead already. This was my ‘First brick’.

So far this is all I have got to say. Now to get back to House M.D. God I do love that program.
